The Red Bull's locked out the front-row on home soil and battled it out in an action-packed Sprint in wet-to-dry conditions.

Lots of great battles today. The wet conditions really helped show how tight the midfield is.

Do you think we'll see the weaker teams prioritising the sprint races over the full ones, given tyre deg will be less of a problem for them? They may feel they can gamble more in the sprints. Haas springs to mind, as Hulkenburg's performance seemed pretty strong, even when he did have to pit/decided to gamble on softs, he stayed in the points.

I missed something I think. Why was the starting grid of the sprint race so different from the qualifying results?

New sprint rules this year. The sprint is completely separate from qualifying and the actual race. Instead, there is a Sprint Shootout before the sprint, which is basically a fast quali specifically for the sprint. The sprint has its own points separate from the Sunday race.

If you’re referring to the difference between the sprint shootout and the sprint grid, Leclerc got a penalty for impeding

Oh wow I completely missed the Sprint Shootout then. How early was it, like half an hour before the race? I'm not even sure it was broadcast here.

Couple of hours earlier I think.

Means that Saturday is now completely disconnected from the rest of the weekend, which is shit imho.

Ah, thanks. It was making me crazy. I only was able to catch the qualifying highlights and a sprint replay- I didn’t hear anyone mention a sprint shoot out qualifying… it was fun to watch, rain never hurts, though another race to see Max and red bull win is a bit meh.
