Cool article. Pretty amazing how many scientific discoveries are completely accidental.
Space is big. The likelihood of finding something intentionally is quite literally, astronomical.
This is the real power of the information age, and why things like reddit and lemmy kinda work decently.
With the broad range of ways an individual's brain can wire itself, as well as the random variables present in the body at any given moment, it's simply unreasonable to expect a single person to consistently notice important things, regardless of how well trained they are. People make mistakes, and for a wide variety of reasons.
So, one solution to this is to subject everything to lots of eyeballs instead of just two. This transparency can create better results through a few different mechanisms of action, and has relatively few drawbacks.
Two eyes are better than one.
And 200 eyes are better than 2!
