  • Samsung is launching a new cloud gaming service on its Galaxy smartphones and tablets, with the service possibly reaching "1 billion" Galaxy devices as early as this week.
  • The cloud gaming service aims to remove game download times, enabling immediate streaming of mobile games without the need for downloading them from the Play Store or Galaxy Store.
  • Samsung plans to undercut the typical 30% service fees charged by other platforms to attract developers to its cloud gaming service.
  • The cloud gaming service has been integrated into the Samsung Game Launcher and has received positive feedback during ongoing testing.
  • This move follows Samsung's earlier ventures into cloud gaming, including the 2022 launch of Gaming Hub on its TVs, which integrated various cloud gaming services.

Samsung adding apps to my device automatically is why I'm not getting another Samsung device. Recently my tablet (galaxy tab 5e) received the game of thrones game app automatically. And there is no way to uninstall

I believe you can by using ADB, https://www.makeuseof.com/uninstall-android-app-adb-system-apps-bloatware/

I've not tried it myself but I've heard it should work. Though I think it's awful that it's even needed.

Call me paranoid, but it feels like local storage is being slowly phased out. First they remove SD card slots, next we won't be allowed to store any data at all locally. Cloud and streaming everything.

Guess I'll go live in the country.

What games ? Mobile or actually games ? So stadia, GeForce now etc

The blurb says you can immediately play mobile games without needing to download them from the play store.

I'm confused as to who this service is meant for. Like I could maybe see it if it was PC or console games, though a phone still sounds like an awful medium to play those kind of games on, plus there's the latency that makes it unattractive to me on any platform. But a streaming service for mobile games!?

Considering more and more phones are relying on cloud storage over internal memory...

I believe I read Microsoft was working on something similar but it was definitely for mobile games. So I think that's the idea. Not 100% sure tho

Microsoft already has their cloud gaming set up as part of GamePass. Xbox games, streamable to phones or whatever device.

It could arrive this week... if they still supported my five year old phone!
