Im here! Sadly i dont know if there are any already existing sublems for the combat side of thing
I joined !dcsworld@feddit.de https://feddit.de/c/dcsworld which, despite the German instance, is an international English speaking community. If you want to make a broader combat-flightsim-focused group, it's probably best to create an account on lemmyfly.org so you can make a community there. For me though, I fly DCS basically exclusively so I'm happy with !dcsworld@feddit.de
Edited community links
It would be nice to have something akin to r/hoggit, but I would only be able to create it on the instance I'm on right now, and at the moment, I'm already moderating one sublem for the first time, I don't feel ready to take on a second.
Edit: I just checked so I could join the DCS one you mentioned, and the actual link is this (https://feddit.de/c/dcsworld). Not sure if it was changed or what happened
Hey there. I mainly fly the F/A-18 Hornet in DCS on the Hoggit server.
I use a mix of VKB stuff, the WinWing Hornet controllers, and custom 3D printed stuff for my sim rig.
I’ve written up some of my projects:

I fly in VR with the Index.
I always love to hear about heli folks since I fell in love with simming way back in the day playing Gunship 2000.
I would dive in but I presently don’t have room to bolt a collective to my office chair. :P
Wow, those DIY projects look impressive! No need for a collective to fly helicopter, I also use a regular throttle. If you're interested, just activate a trial and reach out if you want a wingman. I can fly most helicopters except the Apache, but I prefer the Mi-24, Gazelle and Mi-8. I usually fly on Central-European evening time.
Yes! I love flight sims, everything from Sopwith and Spectrum Holobyte’s Falcon to DCS, IL-2, and MSFS!
