The only one of the three I remember very well is the first one, and I think that's mostly because I've seen so many speedruns of it (thanks, astridthehorrorgirl!) but I do remember at the time of each game's release that 1 was amazing, even playing on the ps2 (iirc), 2 was good, but not as strong, and 3 was mediocre at best. I couldn't tell you why, but that's how I remember feeling. Maybe they deserve a replay.

I'm glad you had fun with it but people shit on the third game for a reason. The first game was pretty revolutionary for its time but the series quickly devolved into 7th gen console FPS mediocrity. The second game was already a huge downgrade and the third game was just generic co-op sludge with like a 3 hour campaign.
I really fucking hated how they sexualised Alma in FEAR 2 by making her a mindlessly horny animal that hunted men down so she could make a ghost baby with them
The fact that a woman using an overwhelming power toremoved someone is seen as "sexualized" instead of "horrifying" is a really big indicator of how depraved the g*mers are
