Did you make sure all the little molded in lugs are seated? I haven’t experienced saggy hoods like that, but have had it look rough when I didn’t get them engaged with the plastic housing properly. If they are just stretched out beyond repair then I’d replace because it would annoy me a bunch otherwise

i think they are just stretched after a cable replacement. the lugs dont seem to want to line up to get pressed it. i guess i'm getting new ones !

Did you need to remove them entirely? The few times I've done that, they seemed to be irreparably stretched - probably because of my cack-handed nature.

i think it's my mechanic.

I have 2 mechanics for work i cant do myself. One is expensive, booked out, always upsells new components but does great work. The other 'gets the job done' somehow, when I need the bike the next day.

I used the latter for a recent cable problem, and he's probably wrenched them a bit.

My sympathies - I do most of my own bike repairs but fully understand the good vs fast predicament when it comes to mechanics.
