A few days ago i made a post venting my frustration when I wasn't able to get a few things working properly and just ended up breaking my server a few times. I got a ton of encouraging responses telling me to take some time off and that it was just growing pains from leaning how to self host.

Today I decided to start with something I didn't think would break anything and that was connecting my UPS to my server, I've had this rhing for 8 months and didn't even know it was a thing! I connected it and got NUT to recognize it (something I had failed miserably at) and to top it off i was able to set up a script to shut down my server safely if the battery gets too low and even cooler (to me) I set it up so that my server would email me any time it goes into battery mode, connected or shut down. How freaking cool! I hope to tackle Crowdsec next.. wish me luck!
