Interesting that Kim Dotcom blames the MAGA boogeyman "deep state communists" for his persecution and celebrated Trump's win, while Trump's supreme court is currently poised to force ISPs to crack down on bittorrent traffic. I don't expect intelligence form Dotcom, but does he really think a conservative oligarchy is going to be friendlier to the users of decentralized anti-corporate protocols?
The only reasons countries like Russia and china don't police piracy is because not doing so hurts US corporate interests, not because they love free speech and want to enable circumvention of government-enforced censorship.
I know this is serious. But I can't stop thinking how cringe is the fact he changed his lastname to Dotcom.
I guess it sounded pretty 1337 at the time.
Man that's fucked up. I hope he makes a full recovery. Sadly, he's very over weight and I'm sure that contributed to it. Uncontrolled blood pressure probably
Regardless of what you think of him or his actions, it's pretty horrible that Hollywood can induce so much prolonged stress on the accused before charges are even faced in court that it results in this.
Wait, the guy is heavy! Pretty sure it's saturated fatty acid and cholesterol clocking his arteries, not Hollywood.
Yeah that absolutely would have played a big factor, but stress increases stroke risk as well, so it's likely a combination of issues. I don't think it should come as a surprise that this happened to him right after he lost his decade-long battle to avoid extradition to the US.
Hahahaa
Let's wish him a good recovery
Amen
