Just optimizing daylight while I can. Hiking on my lunch break, and going outside often.

Zonal heating and exchanging mêmes with my partner

I have been working on my sleep pattern, last week i plaid Stalker Anomaly which had me going bed late and waking up late. Also cutting caffeine after 4pm so super tired evenings and its a struggle to not nap. I am however enjoying the cold with my window open.

I plan on working on Mecrob models. I did the firefly last year, and I have the giant spider—plasma orb one at home now, I'm very excited to work on it.

Blankets, wool socks that go all the way to my knees, and a cute dog friend.

Good friends, good music, good vibes, and good weed.

I am escaping into the Caves of Qud after tucking my kids in. Dunno if its sunny, more salty, but its fun.

During the Winter months, I mostly just wear the same pajamas I do during the Summer. I tolerate the cold way better than I tolerate anything at 20°C and above. It's also a great time of the year for soups, stews, and hot chocolate! ☕

Alcohol after work. Weed every 4 hours. Psychedelics for this weekend.

The alcohol I want to quit or limit, but I'm ultra giga stressed by my 3 part time jobs. Only 10 more months and I get to quit one of them (I did the math).

[–] squid_slime@lemm.ee 2 points 2 days ago

Sounds great and stressful, try and unionise on you last day. As a parting gift.

Indoor climbing gives a big, wide-open, brightly lit area that scratches my itch for being outdoors.

Hot yoga burns out any chill I have.

Trying my darndest to keep a very consistent sleep schedule. January is my toughest month usually, and my friends know when I say my bedtime is 10pm I mean it. New Years, parties, travel, whatever be damned.

Edit: oh, new this year is a weighted blanket. That's the "cozy" bit compared to the above. I like the weight without having to add 5 quilts that are just going to make me sweat.

[–] Bishma@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 2 days ago

My wife has a stack of 9 mostly finished quilts that just need bindings and thread burying, all set to get finished and given out between now and the end of the year.

As of yesterday the stack is down to 8 because the lap quilt destined for my workstation is currently getting its binding.

I started painting models recently so that's been keeping me busy.

Consume a shit ton of cannabis. Yeah.

Dark and cold because the world is breaking rapidly, or the weather? Former, shits cooked, try and enjoy the fall I guess? Later, it's fucking dumb hot and humid in my country, so living in aircon getting angry at the heat!

[–] asbestos@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Got a new soldering iron so I guess that’ll do along with some warm lighting as you said

[–] frunch@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Watcha soldering? Anything fun?

[–] asbestos@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Haha thanks for asking, it’s about half-fun half-stressed-out, I’m making a 40A 10 channel CCT LED controller on a perfboard with a bunch of temperature sensors, presence sensors, fan controllers and other stuff. The first one sucked ass because of EMI from high frequency switching on the FETs so hopefully I’ll figure something out this time… Thinking about doing a split design, with everything power related completely distanced from all the low power stuff as I’m not super knowledgeable.

[–] frunch@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Sounds cool!! Good luck with the project! EMI is one of those things I'd never even consider until i got way into a project like that, then have to reverse course and try a new approach with that in consideration. Gotta learn somehow though, lol!

Santacon.info - gotta be in Jolly good shape for SantaCon!!

[–] shinigamiookamiryuu@lemm.ee 2 points 2 days ago

All I need is my warm clothing and a place to be snug.

[–] Nemo@slrpnk.net 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'm not. As soon as it is seasonally appropriate to do so I'll be blasting "The Man in the Santa Suit" on repeat.

First Sunday of Advent, no sooner

[–] garbagebagel@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Ah okay. In Canada the day after remembrance day is usually the "respectful" start of the season.

[–] Nemo@slrpnk.net 2 points 2 days ago

Respectfully, that's too early. More than six weeks of Christmas season is just too much.

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 days ago

the answer is always the same: look towards the future.

the accelerationism that trump is going to unleash of all of us is going to galvanize american voters into action and the last time that happened, we ended up with things like social security and unemployment as appeasements from the people in charge to neuter support for further leftward shifts in my country.

maybe this time around we'll get ubi after the dust settles.
