From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Hi everyone! I've been working in ML for a while now and I'm breaking into OpenAI's Spinning Up series and I figure it's time for me to get a dual boot with Linux up and running. I can't get docker to stop giving me a memory leak with WSL 2 and frankly using it as a workaround doesn't make that much sense when I am fairly comfortable with IT / the command line. I was curious if anyone had any recommendations for distros and maybe a good bootloader to get started with. The one thing I'm a bit worried about is I have this random FiiO DAC that has shitty drivers even on Windows but I suppose not being able to use that wouldn't be a huge deal anyway as I won't be using this as my daily driver quite yet.
