Yeah, OP has made this post and one other comment...

They could have posted anything else and been the change they wanted, now they'll get notifications from people talking about the one thing they dislike enough to make a post?

I'll never understand the logic behind that shit, the last post was 13 hours ago, just make a different post instead of one complaining about every other posts.

[–] EatATaco@lemm.ee 23 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It's a meta discussion about the direction they want the sub to take.

Sitting down and discussing something that you don't like, so you can avoid it more in the future, is not the contradiction so many people in this sub seem desperate to make it.

[–] Mesophar@lemm.ee 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Though, it does help to make a good faith effort to add content you'd like to see more of

[–] EatATaco@lemm.ee 7 points 3 weeks ago

Agreed. It could absolutely be that this person just likes to complain. But this whole "talking about banning things you don't thing belong in this community is really just talking about it too" is a ridiculous "gotcha."

You have become the very thing you sought to destroy!

You can block posts by keywords, including Elon musk if you like

Ex. Voyager, settings, filters and blocks, add a filter keyword

[–] noodlejetski@lemm.ee 17 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

sadly that's an app-specific setting. if you use a different app or choose to access Lemmy via browser, your keywords won't apply.

lemm.ee##div.post-listing:has(span:has-text("/elon/i"))

Put that into your uBlock Origin filters and change the instance to that of your own. Just keep in mind that this applies to usernames too.

[–] Kazumara@discuss.tchncs.de 46 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I didn't see him until your post, so thanks.

[–] Patch@feddit.uk 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Ha, my thoughts exactly. I've dipped out of Lemmy for a few weeks, just dipped back in today. "I wonder if it's still wall to wall Musk?" I thought, logging in; and this was the first post I see.

I just got into lemmy, and compared to reddit he seems refreshingly scarce here. Come to think of it so does Bonespurs.

Their shills are less present here. These "influencers" spend good money on this engagement slop.

Warren baffet too... Just endless fucking articles to generate "positive" engagement. I don't get this daddy worship shit esp from adult men

[–] halykthered@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 weeks ago

A coworker actually referred to trump as daddy once. Out of dead silence, he said to another coworker, "You know, daddy is gunna be in the area soon." I continued to evesdrop, as I wanted to hear who coworker #2 thought of as 'Daddy' with no context. He hesitantly said the names of a few managers in confusion, and the first guy corrected him and mentioned it was the former president.

[–] LovableSidekick@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Doesn't seem that hard to get. From observation it appears that grown men can still long for father figures.

[–] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 0 points 3 weeks ago

Gereatric nepo babies surely make good father figures for middle aged wage cucks

[–] Reggie@discuss.tchncs.de 44 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Well thanks I almost made it a day without. Then I saw your post.

Also the chicken game.

[–] HappycamperNZ@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

He was in Iron Man 2.

He popped in to ruin that too.

Even without musk it is still the worst iron man.

[–] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 38 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Mad at the quality of technology posts.

Makes another low quality post.

Yeah…

[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 18 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

So you just made another one...

[–] Xeroxchasechase@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

The Streisand effect, with less steps

[–] FaceDeer@fedia.io 0 points 3 weeks ago

In my experience the vast majority of posts about Elon Musk are from people who hate him and are tired of hearing about him.

[–] Steve@startrek.website 14 points 3 weeks ago

When you rage about being stuck in traffic, then you realize….

[–] Linktank@lemmy.today 11 points 3 weeks ago

Be the change you want to see in the world. You just posted about him.

[–] TheObviousSolution@lemm.ee 8 points 3 weeks ago

He's one of the richest yet divisive billionaires in the world who is putting his foot in the door in regards to social network, electric cars, and space travel, what did you expect? "I want to know about technology, but I also want to ignore this huge elephant in the room shitting on me."

[–] thisbenzingring@lemmy.sdf.org 7 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Pretty sure people have said the same thing about all the ultra rich in every generation. I'm just hoping that Musk goes the way of Howard Hughes

[–] tehn00bi@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

Son of a ….

[–] vzq@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

This is the Musk community. Haven’t you heard?

[–] LovableSidekick@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Same. At least Bonespurs will probably soon have his final Big Mac Attack and the news will be all about MAGA self destructing as the hangers-on claw each other to pieces to get on top. Musk has a lot more years left in him. His smartest move would be to announce that he's trans and make social media implode like a supermassive black hole.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 3 weeks ago

Dude has made billions off being a professional lolcow. Can't stop now.

[–] zarkanian@sh.itjust.works -1 points 3 weeks ago

Feel free to downvote and ignore them. Presumably, the people who posted them thought that they were worthy, and I doubt their minds were changed by your non-argument here.

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works -1 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah, ok, But I just heard Elon eats hot dogs on hamburger buns!

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip -1 points 3 weeks ago

Are those serious? I thought they were the daily joke but not funny...
