I used to use one of these in the late 90s. I think it was called Filezilla (Downzilla? I forget; something zilla anyhow) or something, and it made dinosaur sounds when queuing up downloads.

Holy shit I totally forgot about this!
Used to make me so happy hitting 9 kbps download speed 🥹
Adding to the queue was the absolute best and the aesthetic was definitely late 90s early 2000s it was awesome!
Bro, another killing feature of DMs (which is still a killing feature nowadays) is the ability to pause and continue downloads
Yes! Preaching to the choir here, but just in case someone finds this useful: JDownloader is your one stop shop for any DDLs you might have. Take a few minutes to look it over. It’s great.
Free Download Manager was pretty rad. Being able to resume the download later was a life saver for dial-up connections. I remember that it took me almost a week to download Gunbound.
I used flashget
I used to use it as well. Back in Windows 9x days I used to use GetRight. Now I use JDownloader.
I use Jdownloader as well but it just seems...shady somehow. I don't know why.
God, we're old
What are you guys downloading that you need this for?
Linux ISOs obviously./s
On a more serious note: if you are downloading public domain movies or similar from the internet archive a download manager really helps.
Well I'll try it, seems the UI looks like IDM but your version is cleaner & neat.
Compared to IDM or XDM what are the strong points about your download manager ?
Not mine. It's FOSS and do most of the thing that IDM and FDM can do.
I use wget
Looks good, but too bad it’s not on flathub but that’s to be expected if the Linux version is still in beta. I’ll stick to Varia until then.
