That’s what made it confusing for me at first until I watched a couple of videos. I’m that type of person that googles something and adds reddit at the end and I still can’t figure out how to easily view a post from another instance using the post url.
I understand how it works for communities, but maybe there’s a simpler way for individual posts too and I don’t know about it.
You can copy the link to the post and simply paste it in the search box of your instance. It works the same way with communities.
You've got a point about it having to be simpler though. What Lemmy really needs is an official redirect service similar to what matrix.to provides for Matrix servers.
Hmm it works fine on lemmy.ml but not on lemmy.world. I'm guessing that might be a problem with their instance idk
