That seems useful (and affordable). What kinds of embedded Linux distros run on it?

It looks like they have a stripped down Ubuntu image for it or you can use Buildroot.

Is that somewhere in the article? I mean I'm mainly interested to find out if it's a heavily customized image by the manufacturer. That'll become a major hassle to use in 2 years. Or if it's close to a mainline kernel and I can pretty much install whatever I like... (within reason)
