“AI will kill us all!”

AI:

[–] jaamesbaxterr@lemmy.ninja 26 points 1 year ago

The closest I could find is kill. Which starts with a 'k' sound but begins with the letter 'k'.

[–] 30p87@feddit.de 2 points 1 year ago

Besides it's ML, not really AI, this answer was actually generated by AI. Even though the google assistant and search are simple algorithms, that particular search result is from a prompt of ChatGPT where it agreed to the explicit statement "There are no African countries starting with K."

Kenya see deez nuts?

"AIs will steal our jobs and enslave humanity!"

AIs:

Oh I see.

Quenya

It's like a inattentive student getting called out by the teacher trying to scramble together some kind of reply while having not heard the question properly.

In Africa, 'countries' don't start with k, countries starts with 'C'. Also in Africa, at the end of the day, it's night.

Every minute in africa 60 seconds pass

[–] kitonthenet@kbin.social 18 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Google probably should’ve tested this more before they released it

[–] Inductor@feddit.de 22 points 1 year ago (2 children)

This mostly wasn't actually Google, the website it refrences was written by ChatGPT, Google's crawler just found it and shows it in the summary.

[–] kitonthenet@kbin.social 19 points 1 year ago

An AI ouroboros if you will

[–] snowe@programming.dev 4 points 1 year ago

The search was for Asia not Africa. Then google translate it into African

[–] BowtiesAreCool@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

Every 60 seconds in Africa, a minute passes. Together we can stop this! Please spread the word. Thank you for your attention.

Kenya believe it?

[–] VikingHippie@lemmy.wtf 12 points 1 year ago

Don't be silly! Everyone knows that Kazakhstan is the only country in Africa that starts with a K and that no Asian ones do!

[–] Cjwii@lemm.ee 12 points 1 year ago

Here is an alternative Piped link(s): https://piped.video/watch?v=FbYtASAakAI&

I'm open-source, check me out at GitHub.

Yup, that's why I don't use bing chat nor Google assistant to find info lol

[–] pezhore@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

It's was also on Google's "promoted" results via desktop and mobile browser for a few weeks.

If you weren't paying attention, it was easy to miss the source was some other LLM (emergent mind or something).

Edit: just checked, it's still there if you search for, "african countries that start with k".

This is so silly. My kind of joke.

[–] nonearther@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 year ago

So instead of calling it Kenland, they called it Kenya.

This is why Ken is in wrong place.

[–] tanja@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

More and more articles will be written by language models and that really sucks 😔

ChatGPT literally makes exactly that mistake (with the initial letters)

[–] planish@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 year ago

The problem is they have no idea about the internal structure of the tokens they use, except what's present in the data set. The model sees "Kenya" as 8473 299 = Ken ya or something, and how is it supposed to know token 8473, often used for the name of Barbie's boyfriend, starts with K?

Also they love to make up Fun Facts.

[–] IWantToFuckSpez@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago

Yeah it’s written as D’Kenya the D is silent

[–] ElPussyKangaroo@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Kenya hear me kids?!

[–] jungekatz@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago (3 children)

What phone are u , using tho ?

[–] original_ish_name@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Looks like a samsung. It has the repulsive "one UI" and an hourglass logo in the notification panel that looks like thesamaung one

[–] jungekatz@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah looks like that to me as well !

[–] Drinvictus@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Doesn't matter every assistant is doing the same thing. Even chatgpt

[–] jungekatz@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago

Just the UI , i wanted to know !

[–] eatham@aussie.zone 1 points 1 year ago

Samsung, but the assistant is google and mostly just shows the top result.
