You mean re-filling. It was filled quite nicely with the original Thrawn Trilogy. Still glad some of that was salvaged and brought into canon.

Thrawn books that take place after Return of the Jedi exist

Disney: Resets extended canon ‘Let’s start over so we can do different stuff.’

Dave Filoni & Jon Favreau: Puts Thrawn right back into canon

...in a pretty different context that removes much of the content George Lucas criticized about the Heir to the Empire books

Thrawn trilogy was well after RotJ, though. Tons of stuff happens between them. The X-Wing books cover a lot of the fracturing of the Empire, and the fall of Coruscant.

God I loved the X-Wing books! That’s a series I want to watch on Disney +

Unrelated, but Timothy Zahn is at a convention I'm at this weekend.

I have distinctly separated "Dismal Disney StarWers" and the EU-StarWars and the GeorgeLucas JarJar-StarWars.

I personally prefer EU-StarWars + the Original Trilogy. GeorgeLucas almost "accidentally" stumbled on a winning formula for a successful Space-Opera and many many many great and successful writers in the EU-StarWars made it the cohesive SW-EU that it has become.

Disney and its garbage writing/production/corp-greed can take everything to their grave.

I WILL NOT CARE about the "new" and "canon" BS. Not Ever.

EDIT: Gatekeeping is probably the only way to save Successful Franchises and IPs these days. So many upcoming "creatives" think they are BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL AUTHORS. I will be vocal. YOU GET THE EFF OUT OF MY HOBBIES. And if you think naively that authors work in a vacuum, well I guess you never understood how EU-StarWars happened so I don't expect you to have valid arguments.

I think you mean his wife at the time now ex wife edited the mess of a film he shot into agreat film with the help of their friends Spielberg and Brian De Palma. Irvin Kershner didn't need any help with Empire because he knows what he was doing and she's still helped out on that one as well, uncredited.

Marcia Lucas is one of the all time best film editors ever. the only reason we got the special editions was a result of his bitterness for her amd not wanting to give her anymore profit from the films. It's why the ones we will ever see are their laser disk versions.

So a very unique set of circumstances allowed for a successful story to happen. And it was like catching lightning in a bottle. Kudos to GL's wife having a guiding hand in shaping important parts of the story. So did so many authors have a collaborating hand in creating the StarWars-EU stories. Many authors worked together. They did not create garbage.

This is honestly pathetic, y’all must have literally never encountered adversity your entire life to think that star wars writers should have to coddle you.

Then move on already
