Better get used to them...

Why? Seeing I'm not going to watch them.

[–] GladiusB@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Why are you here then? There are plenty of other things to be interested in on Lemmy.

I clearly haven’t read the comics but does the new Captain actually have super powers or is he just a regular guy?

[–] MrPoopbutt@lemmy.world 8 points 4 months ago

He is just a regular guy. He hasn't had the super soldier syrum.

You probably didn't recognize Hulk because of the red arm.

I'm almost certain they gave 3PO a red arm strictly to sell more 3PO action figures. Same with the Falcon and its new type of satellite dish.

It also makes him legally distinct from the previous versions of the character.

Even though Disney owns marvel now, universal studios is allowed to continue using marvel for marketing because they are the 90s comics version of the characters, not the MCU versions. I imagine a similar thing is at play here.

I've been checkout out of Marvel movies for a long time, but I do like the spy thriller tone. The movie seems like it is trying very hard to break out of the default MCU tone. As mentioned in this thread, Winter Soldier also did that somewhat and is one of the better MCU movies. I hope the movie commits to the spy tone (and maybe makes the plot slightly less braindead than most MCU) as hard as the trailer suggests.

Unrelated. Is that Ryan Reynolds Deadpool voice at 1:04?

I like the tone of this. Feels like 90s spy thrillers.

It kind of feels to me like Winter Soldier. Which I'm okay with, that's probably my favorite MCU movie.
