For the last two weeks, I was able to get only like 10% of the time onto kbin. Maybe even a month. The other times it is “upgrading infrastructure over the next few days” message. I see nothing anywhere explaining what is going on. I finding myself going back to Reddit….

I’ve been using https://fedia.io/ while kbin has been down. It runs on mbin which is a fork of kbin. If kbin comes back properly I’ll quite probably move back, either way it’s good to have options.
fedia.io had disabled sign-ups when I last looked. Ended up on kbin.run instead. Despite the name, it's also an Mbin instance.
Yeah I noticed that when I tried to sign up for fedia.io but I also use kbin.run and it works pretty well.
That other site slash r slash redditalternatives
I tried logging in on my main account but Kbin wouldnt let me if I used my username it said invalid credentials and if I used my email it just brought up the error 50 thing. I made Matrix space so kbin users can still talk to each other when it is down. #kbin.social:matrix.org
Also Ernest this is a temporary account I don't mind if it gets deleted.
Thanks for doing this. It won't let me upvote you.
i first went to https://kbin.pub (the site for the software itself), nothing posted there so i followed the link to the repo to check open issues. saw it was being addressed, so i just used a lemmy instance in the interim.
