Cops become cops because they think they are above consequences. Everyone else thinks they're just scumbags.

In other news, water is wet, as anyone detained at Guantanamo Bay can readily attest

Who would have thought that a agency thats dedicated to treating vulnerable, displaced, often non-white people like criminals and less-thans would have a history of horrific abuse and exploitation!

I certainly did!

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The report, compiled by the Washington Office on Latin America (Wola) and the Kino Border Initiative (KBI), migrant rights advocacy groups, details a pattern of misuse of lethal force, intimidation, sexual harassment and falsifying documents.

The authors wrote: “The lack of accountability is so widespread that it helps cement in place a culture that enables human rights violations.

One migrant who filed a complaint after agents using a four-wheel vehicle hit him and ran over his leg, said: “Border patrol has the right to apprehend someone but in the proper way, not wrongfully.

Thanks be to God – he gave me the strength to endure and overcome what they did to me … People do not have to put up with border patrol’s abuses.

KBI tracked 78 complaints filed on behalf of migrants between 2010 and 2022, of which it said 95% led to no proper investigation or disciplinary action.

Wola maintains its own database of complaints of alleged abusive or improper conduct, currently including 409 cases.

It's a top down problem. When your Republican leaders are encouraging hate and abuse, it sets the tone. It's a failure of leadership.

When did the left wing liberals did anything to stop this? ICE is still here after many left wing liberals where in power, the same can be said of Guantanamo, the same of wars in the Middle East wars. Democrats are almost exactly the same as Republicans.

left wing liberals

This is an oxymoron. Liberalism is right-wing.

Democrats are almost exactly the same as Republicans.

This is the least-incorrect part of your comment, but it's still incorrect. You need to understand that it's possible for parties to be vastly different degrees of right-wing.

Liberalism is the moderate wing of fascism, it is indeed a reactionary ideology. But among the both variants of liberalism there are the left wing liberals (the Democrats in the US, and in oppressed countries it is the national bourgeoisie), and right wing liberals (the Republicans, and the international bourgeoisie in oppressed countries). This does not mean they are left wing, just that using each other to create some sort of measurement system one is more to the left and the other one more to the right.

It isnt just the Republicans, theyre just worse than democrats. Its a problem with both parties.

Edit: note that Obama was called the deporter and chief by immigrant activists and Biden deported more than Trump at this point in his presidency.

Absolutely have to bust up DHS, it’s insane that the same agency that does TSA does border enforcement, split ice into INS and customs again

A fascist regime regularly abuses people, who would've thought!

Hey, tbf, all of this is happening under bourgeois democracy.
