There was a cousins subs near my campus job in college that operated out of an old house, and they had an every day deal that was two 7.5" basic subs for $5. I really miss that deal.

It used to be 3 footlongs for $11.99. The meat was still good back then, particularly the steak.

These days it's all cheap and nasty. Subway's been trash ever since they "doubled" their menu by allowing you to toast the sub (which they never toast properly anyway because they just want to get done; IIRC it was something like 1 minute for a footlong, 30s for a 6 inch, add 30 seconds if they double the meat).

You have to double protein it to even get a reasonable sandwich.

5 for $5 at Arby's, too. Miss that so much.
