MODERATORS

“A significant amount of users have been receiving 15-day suspensions as a warning shot from Xbox,” they add, including photos from users as proof. “We STRONGLY recommend removing any and all emulator apps from your console in retail mode immediately (dev mode is unaffected). We apologise to anyone who got a 15-day suspension, we know it sucks.”

So Nintendo is threatening Microsoft with legal action? Why? Microsoft would win that easily.

I don't think it's about threatening with legal actions but more about keeping a good relationship with Nintendo. They probably just asked them to remove it from there retail side because they didn't like it.

But you can still run emulators on the developers mode without problems, you only need to pay a fee to get access to the mode.

Is it Nintendo threatening them? I didn't see mention of that in the article.

Who else would cause Microsoft to be enforcing actions against emulation? Nintendo is literally the only one delusional enough to think their incorrect interpretation of the law is correct.

I didn't realize Nintendo was so anti emulation. Not surprising to learn since they seem to be pretty anti consumer overall

Heh yeah nintendo and Japan in general are consistently behind the curve when it comes to tech trends at this point.

The best way I've heard it describes is: They have been in 2011 for the last 30 years.

They've been anti-emulation for years. It's probably the worst take they have.
