This post reads a lot like "we were too lazy to think about how to properly implement multplayer and security so we just slapped some malware on top". Shame, I would have liked to try this game.

Well shit... I was really excited for this game. My kids and I loved the last one, so many laughs. No way will I expose any of my hardware to this crap though.
Precisely why I have had to (sadly) put Monster Hunter on the shelf. Do not need these scummy companies fucking up my installation and then pointing to some dubious indemnity clause in the terms of service.
What a pity, I was genuinely interested.
Sony and rootkit, name a more iconic duo.
What a sad state when a PvE, P2P game requires installing a rootkit. Was looking forward to this game, but now I won’t even get it on PS5, even if I was originally going to play through proton on steam.
And then they make an FAQ based on feedback from that thread, and instead of posting it anywhere actually public they put it in their Discord and direct everyone there instead.
Well shit. I was really excited for this too, but I'm not going to put up with that kind of invasive bullshit.
Modern day is the worst time to be a hardcore gamer, I swear to fuck. As always, I protest by refusing to have any non-Linux os on my pc and only buying games that run on my pc. Indie games are always better anyway.
