Popeyes spicy chicken is awesome and I love their sides. Taste is waaay better than KFC. The only problem with them is that the quality standards of the franchise is not being maintained in every location, unlike KFC which does a better job of keeping the locations in line.

Sbubby - Eef Freef!
Sbubbies are images in which the text of a logo has been cleanly edited to read something different.
We've altered our ruleset a bit from the subreddit, and these may change at short notice as we acclimate to Lemmy.
Rules:
- Be respectful of your fellow users. Be civil towards others, even if you disagree with them. Hate speech of any kind is not tolerated, including, but not limited to: racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, and transphobia.
- All Sbubbies must be edits to the text of logos. A logo is a visually unique set of iconography that represents a specific product, organization, or group, with unique and distinctive fonts and styling. Edits which change the text of things that aren't logos (i.e. street signs, text on product packaging that doesn't edit the logo itself, BSODs, etc.) don't count, and neither do edits to logos which do not change any text.
- All Sbubbies must be cleanly edited. It must resemble the original logo as close as reasonably possible. It doesn't necessarily need to be absolutely pixel-perfect, but it should hold up to a brief visual inspection at the standard zoom level.
- Relevant titles: We will not be enforcing this to the degree that we did on the subreddit, but try to avoid low-effort, non-descriptive titles such as "My first Sbubby," "I made this," "Credit to <...>," "Found in the wild," or "Title."
- Reposts: Try not to repost images that have already been on the Sbubby Lemmy instance. We are allowing reposts from the Sbubby subreddit, but if it's not your own OC, please give credit to the original creator in either the title or a comment if at all possible. This rule will likely be relatively lightly enforced for a while, as we adjust to the new platform.
- Compilations: Any compilations of edits should have some sort of connection or central theme, and preferably your own OC, but other users' content can be included as long as all of it is credited.
- On that note, if you want to port over your content from the subreddit, you can create one big compilation if you'd like, but we recommend spacing out individual posts over time. It should help us maintain a consistent stream of content while we build our userbase. Don't spam a bunch of individual posts over a short period, though - probably no more than 3 posts per day.
- Banned topics: "Oops, all X," Bepis variants, REEEEE, loss.jpg, anything from the banned repost album, unless you were the original creator of a banned repost album image, in which case, contact us first.
Around me, all the KFCs are substandard while most popeyes are actually maintained better. Although there is one popeyes somewhat near me that used to get in trouble for dumping oil on the side of the parking lot. I guess it all depends on your location.
The crust of my armpit tastes better than KFC.
But I need Popeyes a few times a year just to know I'm alive.
My guy, clean your armpits. They shouldn't be crusty.
The Popeyes here is garbage. But then again, KFC isn't better so your point stands I guess.
Disagree. I can get KFC here, while I would have to cross the Atlantic ocean to get something of Popeyes. KFC doe deliver here, Popeyes doesn't.
The Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich is a triumph.
The KFC Zinger (spicy chicken sandwich) is amazing and on par with Popeye's spicy chicken sandwich. The only difference is the fries and there it just comes down to preference. While the Cajun fries from Popeyes have something good and "unique" about them, sometimes you are just in the mood for regular fries and then KFC fries are the best fast food fries available in the Philippines. They are truly amazing fries. But I am also aware that the quality of KFC drops outside of SEA.
When it comes to regular fried chicken, neither place is particularly outstanding.
Fresh Publix fried chicken kicks both in the teeth.
Popeyes food is better than KFC. Popeyes staff is so rude it's actually funny
It varies by location but Lee's famous recipe chicken will always slap
I’d spent forever hearing about how good Popeye’s is. Apparently the one near me is an outlier because I’ve given them three chances and was insanely let down every single time. Maybe one day when I’m passing by a different one and I have the urge, I’ll try again at a different location, but for now I’m sticking with KFC for the chicken sandwiches (and the fries… KFC honestly has some of my favorite fast food fries and they’ve been consistently good every time).
Popeyes chicken is always so dry and unpleasant unless it's the tenders. Those are good. Not great, but good. But I don't usually want tenders, so that doesn't do a lot of good for me if I want a leg or breast or something.
Also all of their sides are a bit worse than KFC as well.
So KFC is better and I generally dislike KFC as it is. So many other options to get actually good fried chicken at the same price now that it's so expensive.
Depends where you live, Popeye's in my city is great and way better than KFC.
As much as I'd heard how much better they're supposed to be I was excited that there's one nearby my new job. What a disappointment, I'll give them the win in breading texture but it's bland, the spicy sauce on the spicy chicken was underwhelming and I found out after the fact that they can't get orders correct to save their life
KFC is not good but they are better than Popeyes
