I'm pretty excited about this since Dragon's Dogma was one of my favorite games.

Looks good, basically the same gameplay as the first game but with updated graphics - which is exactly what I'm after. I like that you can stand on enemies instead of falling through them. The spell effects look really good, and I liked seeing an armoured caster.
Hype!!! Classes look fun. Curious to see if fast travel is better this go around. But I also am not sure I want it. Half the fun was the random battles.
From what they've shown fast travel is handled differently in this game. There are ox-pulled wagons in that you can find roaming the world that will take you to major locations (and also wagons in the major cities). It appears you have the option to rest while on the cart to skip the journey or you can just ride them. Apparently you can also be ambushed while riding in the wagon.
Ah that sounds sick. One of the only issues I had with the first game was that some of the fast travel markers were really far out there, I liked not being able to just fast travel somewhere immediately but some were just a slog. I remember taking hours to get to one because I was being harassed by harpies and bandits the whole way that weren’t super challenging, just time consuming and endless, and the walk was a good 45 minutes with no interruption lol
I never played the first, would y'all recommend it? I can probably pick up a used copy somewhere or get the remastered version on PC
It's a great game. Rough around the edges, but there's a lot of charm in there and a huge world to explore. The expansion adds a whole new map to dive into post game, too.
Yes. It's still a pretty interesting approach to RPG combat and design even years later.
This new one looks to minimally change the formula, which is good.
