can you explain how you were able to get this so fast? I’m having a hard time in my play through a 1) defending against the british in opium wars in the new update and 2) changing my politics as the landowners are not very fond of such changes.

I took the decision to ban opium after I researched line infantry. Not sure if Britain will still stand by if you don't take the decision, I started this one in 1.5.7

As for the landlords, try to industrialize and get their clout low with voting and shit. Generally don't try to go progressive too fast or you'll end up with unmanageable civil war.

I love this game but holy fuck, landlord are such fucking parasites, they are against every law change. If the AI didnt change every production method and fucked with my industry when revolting I wouldnt mind that much.
