i don't know why this is downvoted, as much as i can't personally stand gimp, it's not bad and definitely worth much more than $0.00

I like Photoshop. I get it through work, so cost isn't a factor for me. It's what I learned on and it's what I'm most comfortable with.

GIMP is very powerful, free, and open source. If it's what you start with you'll become comfortable with it pretty quickly.

Affinity Photo is excellent. It only requires a one-time purchase and is reasonably priced, especially if you catch it on sale.
