What is more mildly infuriating than reading a post complaining about someone else complaining? Adding another level!

Edit: Thanks for replying to my little joke everyone. It has been fun reading the responses. Though it seems like we have a few people that still only read and respond to the title.

Someone should definitely come up with a good rage bait title with happy rainbow stuff in the body.

No, you cannot complain about complainers complaining about complainers complaining. That's too far!

Why is this so far down - this should be at the very top!?:-)

"Break the loop and you break the chains."

Nobody actually said that to my knowledge but putting quotes around it lends some legitimacy.

3 days from now:

Can we stop making posts to complain about posts complaining about posts complaining about posts...

[–] metaStatic@kbin.social 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

3 days from now:

The US navy detected the implosion of complain posting 3 days ago

[–] rarkgrames@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

That would be subs not posts

Do you mean to tell me the complainposting death clock was just clickbait

[–] 1Fuji2Taka3Nasubi@kbin.social 6 points 1 year ago

Reminds me of this.

[–] books@lemmy.world 36 points 1 year ago (1 children)

As a digg refugee, it was the same thing on reddits early days... I think it's just part of the process.

[–] NoIWontPickaName@kbin.social 19 points 1 year ago

It's part of grieving

[–] nieceandtows@lemmy.world 35 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Complaining about reddit is part of the process. Let them do the same thing you did when you first migrated over.

[–] PutangInaMo@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago (4 children)

Yeah that'll die out, but ramping up these kinds of complaint creates a circuit where we'll get an eventually matured circle of hate.

[–] NoIWontPickaName@kbin.social 7 points 1 year ago

It's the circlllle, the circle of hate!

[–] Caithe@lemdit.com 2 points 1 year ago

I like my hatred finely aged in an oaken cask

It's like free collective trauma-dump therapy for us recovering Reddit addicts. I can't wait for the "1 year since I dropped Reddit" kind of posts next year

I don't know, maybe a post complaining about people complaining about people complaining? Seriously though I didn't notice such posts. I've only seen level 1 of this rabbit hole so far with people complaining about Reddit users ruining their little club and that seemed to peter out mostly over the past 2 weeks.

[–] saltesc@lemmy.world 17 points 1 year ago

Setting off "Stop replying to the email chain everyone!" vibes.

[–] Boggy@lemmy.world 21 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What’s more infuriating that a post complaining about someone else complaining? Probably one complaining about a post complaining about someone else complaining.

[–] SquareBear@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 year ago

Are you complaining about those complaining about the people who complain about the Redditors complaining about Reddit?

[–] pectoralis@lemm.ee 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Complaining about the complainers complaining... So Meta...

[–] steal_your_face@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Can we stop making posts complaining about people complaining about complaining?!

Keep perspective in mind: it might be the 247st post complaining about reddit that YOU read, as you've been here longer than the newbies. But for the newbie that just now arrived here it's literally one of the first things they will post, they have NOT read the other posts yet and might not even know yet how to navigate the site properly to even find said posts. Just let them vent a bit, ok? It will get better on its own.

Imagine if it was pouring outside and you want to meet with friends, you're a bit late and soaked and p*ssed about the whole situation, but you finally make it and the first thing you say is; "Maaan, what a f[$%&] weather out there!" and then someone gets angry at you; "Yes we know FFS, the last eight people that arrived said the same!" ...would you feel welcome then?

Thanks for saying it before I had to. You can really tell this is Reddit's successor by the complaintception.

[–] OCATMBBL@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

It appeals to a broad group of new users, and Lemmy needs posts. I think it's ok for a few days or even weeks. It's topical - people are going to talk about something important to them. To tell them to shut up, and/or to shove it makes them feel unwelcome, which is counter to the growth Lemmy needs.

Sometimes it's ok to be annoyed by something, but to recognize it's worth to others.

I'm considering a new tack, to make posts complaining about people who complain about posts about people complaining about Reddit.

Do you think it will catch on?

[–] ColonelSanders@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago

Ok, but only if I get to make the next post that complains about people complaining about people who complain about Reddit. Or...something.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The meta on this is getting out of control.

[–] metaStatic@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

I'm So Meta Even This Acronym

[–] Helldiver_M@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I'll make a single exception for this post, as it's complaining about the people complaining. But if I hear someone complain about someone complaining about someone complaining, then so help me.

As long as everyone has something to complain about, I think we're in a pretty good spot.

[–] Flashoflight@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Yeah seriously. Lemmy is 1/2 people that got booted from Reddit and miss it like an ex lol

[–] acunasdaddy@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

So I spend 3+ hours a day on a website for 15 years and then just forget about it in a week? Okay

I mean.... What do you expect? Lemmy to be an exclusive club?

A bunch of people got betrayed by a platform they've been a part of for sometimes 12-15 years.

Would you rather the generally higher quality users of reddit come to Lemmy, or start their own thing and split/fragment information and communities even more?

Anyways, redditors are going to miss their communities and platforms. This is to be expected, it's asinine to think that wouldn't be the case.

[–] lvxferre@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 year ago

Is this like the recursive centaur (half horse, half recursive centaur) except with complains?

[–] jim@lemmus.org 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

So... I wasn't the only one thinking that

[–] metaStatic@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

So anyway, I started posting ...
