Shit man. I wish my kid wanted to tinker with Linux. He writes code and is a total nerd, but he has NONE of that Linux curiosity.

I have a dual boot and if you don't hold f11 on boot, the only clue that Linux is on there would be the strangely formatted volume in device manager.

Being a Linux wiz is a massive boon to career opportunities as the world is moving to containers like docker.

I'd be willing to help dig up persuasive material so you can prove to your dad that being patient with you on this will pay off.

It's ok, you don't have to do that for me lol. He did do a bit of Linux in the past, made a bunch of websites, coded and stuff like that. He just doesn't want me to get distracted I guess. Plus I've got Linux on one laptop already so I can deal. (And i just figured out how to get Arch in Crostini for my formerly un-Linux-able Chromebook so I'm gonna spend some time setting that up) His heart is in the right place i think. I mean I won't object to you finding sources if you really want to, it's just also some family stuff happened recently today which makes it not a good time to talk to him about it, especially since i talked to him about it recently in regards to swapping out my chromebook for one of the old laptops from my grandma. I apologize if this is kinda incoherent, I have to go to sleep soon so I'm rushing to type this lol

Oh ok. This sounds really reasonable honestly. All good.
