Imagine Apollo for Lemmy ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

[โ€“] ladrodibestie@feddit.it 28 points 1 year ago (3 children)

i'm using memmy (iOs) ! works very good, and it feels nostalgic since they tried their best to... be inspired by apollo ๐Ÿ˜„

[โ€“] ShadedCosmos@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

I love Memmy for Lemmy!

[โ€“] TenderfootGungi@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago (2 children)

They have added the blue jump button. It makes it hard to upvote comments at the bottom, but love that it is there.

[โ€“] LetKCater2U@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

You can hide it in settingsโ€”>appearance

[โ€“] ladrodibestie@feddit.it 1 points 1 year ago

You can hide the button, but my favourite way to upvote comments/posts is by swiping a bit to the right!

And if you deep-swipe to the right it will downvote.

My gf installed that one yesterday, but I think it does not have an option to mark as read posts while you scroll, hide read posts?

I couldn't even see if the read posts were dimmed.

[โ€“] thal3s@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It does in TestFlight. In fact, it has several options for marking read and works great.

[โ€“] kratoz29@lemmy.fmhy.net 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Wait, so the App store version is just a dumbed one version?

[โ€“] thal3s@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No, itโ€™s just behind the dev builds. Lots of new features have been delivered lately and will be pushed to the App Store soon.

[โ€“] kratoz29@lemmy.fmhy.net 3 points 1 year ago

Good to know, thanks.

[โ€“] ladrodibestie@feddit.it 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

All "hide read posts" options are here!

In Settings -> Content -> Hide Read Posts .

edit: to clarify, i have the 0.5 version. i'll update to 0.5.1 now.

That's Voyager.

Great... Now I get to look forward to a trip back from the delta quadrant.

[โ€“] kratoz29@lemmy.fmhy.net 7 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Which is also coming for Android!

[โ€“] botorfj@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

iโ€™d love a native version since brave keeps resetting voyager every 2 or 3 days

[โ€“] kratoz29@lemmy.fmhy.net 2 points 1 year ago

Just keep waiting mate!

[โ€“] armrods@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah no, Apollo was native, Vogager isn't

[โ€“] gunnm@monero.town 2 points 1 year ago

Native already incoming and PWA works awesome.

[โ€“] undefined@programming.dev 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

except it's not, because Voyager is React and comes with all the baggage that using React brings.

Native clients all the way.

[โ€“] gunnm@monero.town 3 points 1 year ago

Works great as PWA, and Voyager is already coming native.

[โ€“] A10@kerala.party 18 points 1 year ago

Hopefully the dev changes his mind about not creating an app for lemmy

[โ€“] Shambles@beehaw.org 11 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (3 children)

Have you heard of wefwef? Itโ€™s basically Apollo for Lemmy.

Link to a Reddit post about it, quickest I could find in short order at work:

https://www.reddit.com/r/apolloapp/comments/14lr2n4/wefwef_is_an_apollo_like_web_app_for_lemmy/

[โ€“] Zana@startrek.website 13 points 1 year ago (2 children)
[โ€“] Shambles@beehaw.org 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Thanks, I didnโ€™t realize that. My icon still says wefwef.

[โ€“] Cqrd@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

For the PWA youโ€™ll have to remove and re-add it to get the updated name and icon, if you want them. Not required by any means though

[โ€“] Shambles@beehaw.org 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Thanks that worked!, I feel like I preferred the old icon though :/ Iโ€™ll get used to the new one I guess.

[โ€“] Pinklink@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

Is it? I got it before it was on App Store, so it still says wefwef. Should I go get Voyager because one day updates wonโ€™t transfer over? Or am I good, and super duper cool cus I got OG Voyager?

[โ€“] owf@feddit.de 8 points 1 year ago

Seriously good by any measure, and fantastic for a webapp. Smoother and more native-feeling than a lot of actual native apps.

[โ€“] A10@kerala.party 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yes and big fan as well even hosted it on my instance

[โ€“] spiderman@ani.social 3 points 1 year ago

good job on having india's first general instance (ig?)

[โ€“] danielton@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Yeah, it's called Voyager, and it doesn't even have the Pixel Pals or pop-ups that ruined Apollo!
