I've recently watched 'The Terror' and am fascinated by the subject. I enjoy the scenery, the bleakness and harshness of the environment and the explorative subject matter.

I could do without supernatural elements, though.

Not the NW passage, but Shackleton definitely scratches that itch.

There's both fictionalized and documentary styled versions of the story.
