Since today I’m getting errors refreshing my Lemmy.ml feed. Tried a bunch of things, including logging out of my account, and now I can no longer login.

When I try to login and enter the lemmy.ml domain, I get a red error text saying “Failed to connect to lemmy.ml”.

Tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling from the Apple App Store. Didn’t work. Looked for updates, didn’t seem to be one.

I can access Lemmy.ml in the browser and my account seems to be fine as wel.

I can use Mlem to visit Lemmy.world just fine. Can even refresh the feed and browse posts.

Is it just me? Or anyone else with this issue?

We blocked some crawlers on lemmy.ml today, so a dev would have to let us know what user agent mlem is using.

Lol I spent 3 hours trying to figure out why my app is not working only to realize your instance is rejecting empty or omitted user agents. I found setting it to any non empty value fixes it.

I’m working on my own client for Lemmy. What should I set user agent to prevent it from breaking again?

Please use a user agent that identifies your app.
