The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.

Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.

**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

Lol nothing says we are afraid of the working class like banning subreddits on suppressed news they don’t want us to see. I came here bc I got a warning on my account for liking a comment that said “Luigi”. My alt account got banned for sharing the DOGE email list that is public info. Fuck Reddit. I’m done.

Well... that's just going to be most American sites going forward. That's why ultimately platforms like Lemmy are so important. What a lot of people here in the States don't realize is that this is a war on information.

this is a war on information

I think most people understand that by this point. It's been a war on information since the internet was created, even 80 years ago people like Goebbels understood the value of constricting information flow.

See... I'd genuinely like to believe you, but you highly overestimate just how aware the average American is about the situation. Pretty much everybody outside the US gets it though.

Luigi expose the charade to the point where even Normie's can see how shiti the situation truely is

Oh, I realize it. I’m just shocked at how the social media landscape and the United States has changed seemingly overnight. And no major news organization has the guts to say “this isn’t fucking normal”, instead, they are normalizing it.

We were brought up being told how great this country is.

Clearly that was a whole lot of bullshit

You don't think trump laid down the law after the election result was announced?

[–] Theonetheycall1845@lemmy.world 11 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Always has been my friend. It just took time for the fascists to catch up

[–] rockettaco37@lemmy.world 7 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

A lot of us are figuring that out the hard way

Better late than never..

Going into opposition means avoiding using your enemies infrastructure

I don't really trust large companies in general if we're gonna be completely honest. This political situation is just making that mistrust worse.

Lemmy is more important to those of us that live in countries without free speech. Like the UK. It's still unreal that I can type that and it's completely true. Although it's more unreal that thanks to government censorship I need a VPN to access this site at all.

Really? I'm accessing this on a UK government PC as we speak

[–] Stormy1701@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 hours ago

Lemmy.zip is blocked in the UK.

[–] rockettaco37@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago

We're not going to have that for too much longer in the US...
