Loop Hero had a fascinating story. The world is ending and as part of that everyone's memory is fading. It's nothing to really get super excited about but it was a way more surreal and unique story than I expected from it and I don't really see people talk about it. I haven't beaten yet, I started it over recently. I just played again after a month.
I played it a lot on launch. We had recently moved into a new house. It's actually the first video game I played in the new house. I was looking for a new job at the time. That combined with all the unpacking and new house chores made me extremely stressed. I refer to this three months period or so as the black out. There were so many things that happened that I just don't really remember. It felt like my brain wasn't making new memories lol. It's very ironic that after finally going through the effort to set up my desk and computer that the game's story was about the world ending and everyone having to remember it back into existence.
It's definitely one of the most unique stories and gameplays I've seen in a game.
