Didn't God free the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt?
He freed his people from being slaves to not-his-people. He's perfectly fine with his people being slaves to his people, a la Noah making one of his kids and all of that kid's progeny slaves for accidentally seeing Noah naked, or when Jesus tells slaves to obey their earthly masters
Yeah it was around the same time when Thor was dressing in drag to get back Mjolnir.
