I found it ridiculous that when I told landlord could smell gas, he was like..."well we can't smell anything" and when they finally called someone out, the tech/engineer just said - "yea it's normal to have a bit of a leak at the meter". These people live in the same fucking building!
If I smelled gas in UK, I called gas company, someone would be out urgently and fix it either inside or outside the house until there was nothing noticeable. I no longer wonder why shit blows up due to gas leaks in NA
