Owning a car is less important to younger people.

That’s an important distinction. Unless these generations were all queried at the same age, that is.

Good question. It's possible all this poll is showing is that old people aren't physically as able to use other methods.

Mobility is just as important for young people. The difference is that cars are much less affordable for young people who are choosing better alternatives such as transit and bikes.
