im still debating wether i start a peertube channel or not, and im no pro but we all have to start somewhere. ive aksed variouse family member si know if i should do some sort of video content creation. i was thinking gaming but there are so many genres im not sure plus i have school and im worried it might make my life more stressful. does anybody here have experience with peertube, if so feel free to share something in the comments if possible. i also have somewhat of a low end pc that can manly run old titles and 2d games.

how do you even find motivation to keep posting video after video?

so is starting a peertube worth it or is now a good time to start?

Thing is, PeerTube isn't YouTube.

Banging out video after video to grab eyeballs is viable with monetisation but, on the Fediverse, you'd have to rely on Patreon and affiliate links to gain income but with a much lower "footfall".

If you are on someone else's instance, then they are likely to put a limit on the amount of storage you get, so you may run out of space with a flood of videos.

For now, just do what you enjoy, don't make it a chore. Use Mastodon/Calckey to boost your videos (try Calckey's easymode.im instance for games) and just see how it works for you.
