They're related to cats from the fertile crescent, so Turkey at least they're essentially native. The problem with other areas is there's no native animal that fits the same niche, so they can destroy ecosystems. Many animals have gone extinct largely thanks to the domestic cat.

I know this but I don’t think society has yet reached a level of awareness where it is deemed not acceptable.

Online some few people been advocating it on various niche forums, some random podcast on the radio comes and goes but generally no one gives two fucks let alone some active non acceptance.

Fireworks are in that place if we talk about bird law
there is growing non acceptance for fireworks
