He claims Trump would act immediately upon winning the election, before taking office. Which sounds legally dubious, but not that that's ever stopped Trump....

Ahh right, because the guy who was literally impeached for trying to get Zelensky to fabricate a story about his political opponent and who is beholden to Ukraine’s enemy would be an honest peace broker.

I’m not seeing any reference to Trump being honest in the article.

It’s fairly trivial for the US president to end the conflict. Stop supplying weapons to Ukraine and send them to Russia instead, and it’d be over in a week. This is something I fully believe Trump could do.

I'm not sure if you could call Russian occupation 'peace' in Ukraine

[–] illi@lemm.ee 17 points 4 months ago

This is exactly what these people mean when they say "peace"

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago

It will give Russia another 6-10 years before they do it again just like last time.

[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

That would not bring peace though. Russia would just start with the next country/countries.

[–] Crashumbc@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Most likely, as a condition of the "peace". Russia would promise not to invade anywhere for a few years to make Trump look good...

[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago

So when did russia not break any promise they gave? They already promised to not invade Ukraine!

It's just bs.
