Whether it be electronics, automobiles or medical equipment, the manufacturers should not be able to horde “oem” parts, render your stuff useless if you repair it with aftermarket parts, or hide schematics of their products.

Phone camera; $30 digital microscope; $30 Endoscope. There are just so many better ways available to look down a hole to see what's at the bottom than to tear apart the space around it.
OP didn't have to handle it how they did, at all.
