Humans can also smoke it and have a mild euphoric effect as well as acting as fever and inflammation relief.
I’ve only ever heard of people smoking it and then getting a headache afterwards. Haven’t read a trip report on Erowid that was counter to that.

Me. Me and a bunch of dumb fucks tried smoking some when we couldn't find any weed when we were teenagers. None of us got high. Just felt like crap.
I tried it personally after reading about it on erowid back in the day, since we had catnip just growing as a weed around the house.
But this book also talks about its use and effect in humans.

I learnt from Alnwick Castle poison garden in north England that catnip makes humans grouchy, and historically was used by executioners to feel less bad about executing people. No idea how true that is but it makes an interesting thought!
