Gisnep

Is this a thing I'm not aware of, or just a very strange typo?

I'll give you the p, but in which world is that a G?

Oh, because things are not the things that they are.

Why not Malt?

[–] samus12345@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

Malt Disney, the good version of Walt.

Still looks more like a G than a D to me.

Ain't nothin' but a G thang

ωal⅂ Әisnep

... or perhaps ⧢al7?

[–] JackFrostNCola@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

That 'y' has pissed me off since i was a child. I was always baffled as to why it was spelt Disnep but pronounced Disney, especially while learning digraphs at school and it didnt fit in with any of the sounds the letter combinations were supposed to make.

Well, that's what their logo says, I don't know what to tell you

[–] SoleInvictus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I'd wager they meant Walt Disney.

[–] samus12345@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Indeed, but it was spelled that way deliberately.

[–] SoleInvictus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 10 months ago

I see it now! Thanks for the nudge.
