Many, many right‐wing conspiracies—again, directly or indirectly—can be traced back to antisemitic tropes. Whether the particular iteration has replaced the word ‘Jew’ with ‘banker’ to make it more socially acceptable, or, perhaps, a concept or story has been so abstracted from the original that it’s actually what the person saying it understands it to mean—words like ‘globalist’ or ‘élite’ &c.—but regardless of what the person or messenger understand the message to be, this is ultimately where those messages come from: antisemitism, and one of those antisemitic tropes is blood libel. We’re going to look at that.

ETA: To be honest, I now regret sharing this video. The author made a video about the supposed ‘Red-Brown alliance’ and he defended solidarity with the Ukrainian army on the grounds that not all of them are neofascists. I should have watched the entire video and checked out his channel before sharing this, but I was in a rush to get something out and this happened to be in my calendar for today. Sigh… oh well.
