I learned that when she opened a show soon after his latest indictments. Paraphrasing a bit, she said that on a personal note, she would not be covering the latest allegations against Senator Bob Menendez, her father. Her MSNBC colleagues would be investigating and reporting on that story otherwise, as they should. Those last 3 words I remember much more clearly and I think was a direct quote.
It's hard not to think about her father when seeing her on air, but I'm a firm believer that someone shouldn't be tied to their parents like that. Unless I find out she had involvement of her own, I'll live with that fact and try not to judge her on it. Lawrence O'Donnell certainly wasn't holding anything back when it was discovered his wife (don't believe that's Alicia's mother) was the driver in a fatal accident.
100%! I don’t believe this lessens her journalistic integrity at all and her father’s actions are not her responsibility. I do find the internal politics around it interesting, though.
