Ugh i’m kinda bummed I just bought an OLED. I should've waited for the switch 2.

...or bought a SteamDeck and used Yuzu or Ryujinx to pirate and play the same games, plus PC games.

Source: Finished Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom on my SteamDeck. The gyroscope in the SteamDeck was a killer feature for BOTW. Trying to solve the gyroscope puzzles in BOTW with a mouse was basically impossible.

Do the Switch emulators have any way to do online play with friends who own an actual switch?

Yuzu can play online with any games that have 'local' multiplayer on the switch. Pokemon, Stardew Valley, etc.

Edit. Just realized you wanted emulator to console multiplayer. That's a no.

I meant from hacked Switch to another hacked Switch... But yeah seems like the answer is no regardless.

Yes but the switch wouldn’t functionally be a switch anymore after the jail breaking. It depends on the version of the switch whether that’s even possible. There may also be a few games that won’t connect bc people haven’t done the work yet or it’s not even possible.

I'm asking mostly because recently I was wondering about this loss functionality since I hacked my unit lol, it would be great to use something like custom servers... Just as if it was Wimmfi or the Pretendo project (that ain't working yet AFAIK).

[–] SuicideSorcerer@lemm.ee 4 points 10 months ago

That would’ve been the move.

Do you have a recommended config for TOTK? Can't get it to run above 20fps

[–] fadingembers@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

How did they run? Totk chugged on my gen 1 switch

[–] SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

TOTK had more areas where it slowed down a little, but I averaged 25-30fps most of the time, with shrines being more like 40fps.

Honestly sounds better than my experience with the switch

For an indefinite amount of time? Just enjoy, you got a decent console at a decent time
