all of that money going to the royal leeches has probably impacted peoples ability to get healthcare in the first place.

I'm not talking about the not my king thing I don't care about that and think they should be able to protest as long as they are not blocking roadways used by the public but the just stop oil protests that have occured on essential roadways that have stopped people from getting to where they need to go are the problem

[-] xor@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 8 months ago

But what's the point of a protest that doesn't inconvenience people? As long as emergency vehicles can pass, the stopping people going where they want is kinda the point

[-] Stez827@sh.itjust.works -1 points 8 months ago

It's not inconveniencing people it's making so that people can't get done what they need to get done or may not be able to say goodbye to their parents in the hospital

[-] therealrjp@lemm.ee 1 points 8 months ago

So, in other words, inconveniencing them.

people should be able to protest as long as i’m not inconvenienced

[-] Stez827@sh.itjust.works -3 points 8 months ago

Dude inconvenienced isn't really a right way of putting it if someone is on probation and they need to get to work to not get sent back to jail and they can't make it to work they will be put back in jail, or if someone they know is dying in the hospital and they are unable to see them before they die that's fucking awful

Regular people don’t drive through central London to get to work or go to the hospital

I'm not talking about London specifically but other similar protests that have occured on essential road ways like what has happened in the us
