LMAO don't put a fucking camera in your bedroom you dummies
Don't kink shame me! Gaping security violations get me all hot and bothered. Sometimes I check my bank account on public WiFi, just for the thrill.
Checking your bank account on public wifi is perfectly safe thanks to TLS.
There's more to good opsec than encrypted transport, but for most people this is probably true. Maybe also avoid being in camera view especially without MFA.
I've always been leery of public Wi-Fi because of the timeless adage:
"nothing is free. If something is free, then you are the product."
It costs them money to provide public Wi-Fi, what are they getting out of it if they're not mining data from the users?
It's not a very good adage. Charities exist, for example. And free drink refills.
When a business offers free wifi, it's giving you an incentive to stay longer and come back more often.
okay, I will change my perspective on that.
Wait, really? Sir, this is the internet.
If you want to investigate gaping holes on the internet, you could skip the camera and go straight to pornhub

Better: don't connect your cameras to the internet
OpenIPC looks worth testing
I'd assume fucking cameras are made specifically for the bedroom.
I’m assuming they are in young children’s bedrooms. There’s only one reason to put a camera in an adult’s bedroom ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Caring for a bedridden relative?
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Counter-Argument: Each camera in a bedroom can be free entertainment for millions!
And don’t stay at hotels or airBnB or …. Well just don’t sleep.
