Is there any chance we could get options like this added in? Mainly just wanting the ability to not have all pics auto-expanded as an option.

Yes, I think it's doable, and useful. Added to TODOs, will try to implement it this week. Thank you for the idea :)

Awesome! Thank you! I'd love to see this instance take over as the main NSFW instance for people. If you need some help I can offer some and see what I might be able to help out with.

I had two options: the first was a proper implementation, but it would diverge PornLemmy's source code even more from the standard, base Lemmy, making future changes cumbersome, and a second one that was easy but hacky. I went with the second one 🙃.

New setting

If you go to settings, you should see the "Auto expand images" option (if you don't, wait a bit for Cloudflare to push the new changes). It will respect your choice until you clear the browser's cache, close the incognito window if that's what you're using, or switch to a different browser. It's not pleasant, but it's honest work.

I took this as "auto expand is the only one that makes sense", because, you know, you're on a site called PORNLemmy.com . It's kinda the whole point to see NSFW stuff :), so having blur as an option doesn't make practical sense, IMHO.

Awesome! Thanks! And yeah, I just mean the auto-expand option. Lemmnynsfw has it and it is a nice feature to be able to see more easily.

You're awesome!

I am not a member of PORNLemmy.com but this post showed up in my feed. It would be pretty shitty for me to get blasted with some smut when I'm scrolling in a common waiting room or anywhere else in public.

Thankfully using Connect for Lemmy allows me to have the thumbnails of NSFW posts blocked.

I understand your argument, but I think broader use cases should be considered.

You will only see (unwanted, without a choice) the nsfw media if you use a browser AND go to https://pornlemmy.com . The PornLemmy team has modified the interface, but these modifications live only on pornlemmy.com , they don't affect any other instance or mobile app.
