I generally only use a computer (and, therefore, a physical keyboard) for work. Since I can't constantly allow myself to be super slow at typing, my advancement with the G80 has been slow going. However, because the travel is super short when compared to standard switches, I can tell that I'm typing faster than I would have had it used mx. I am still bummed I can't use my current caps, but am no longer bummed at the switch incompatibility. I have seen 3D printed converters to allow the use of mx caps on the chocc switches, but really want to get used to the G80 stock before modifying anything.
That’s interesting. Do you think using converters on choc switches would hamper their durability? Or is the impact negligible?
I wouldn't imagine it would harm anything if we're not rough with pulling them off. Just being on there shouldn't do any damage. I hope not, because I do plan to get some once I'm used to stock.
Got it. Do share your experience here after using it. :-)
I plan to! It'll likely be a while at my current pace before I get used to it enough to have an opinion other than "it's different", but I will make sure to pose here!
