Gay: News, Memes and Discussion
Welcome to /c/Gay - Your LGBTQ+ Haven
We're more than just a community; we're your haven for celebrating LGBTQ+ culture and connecting with like-minded individuals.
Community Rules:
~ 1. No bigotry. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 4. Keep it LGBTQ+ related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love posts but 3-4 in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

It was probably here on Lemmy, but I saw a post that basically said anything you need to stay alive, should be free. Air, water, nutrition, medical care, basic housing, etc.
If we can guarantee everyone a 10-ft square cube with nutritional paste, a health plan, and clean water, then so many problems would be solved.
We can have people who just decide to live with the basics and are happy with their choice, but can get out of it if they want to. We could have people who try to make a lot of money so they can afford nice houses and fancy meals, and that would be fine.
I'm sure there's probably a downside, because humans can fuck anything up, but it's hard for me to imagine a world where everyone has a guaranteed bare minimum quality of life, but can choose to make money and upgrade whatever parts they want, would be bad. Like a solid foundation of socialism, with capitalism on top as an optional extra.
Well, for now, the simplest way would be universal basic income, paid by taxes scaled with capital.
